For All the Mothers, especially the new ones...

Let me begin by saying "Happy Mother's Day" to all of you ladies.
I was fortunate to have an amazing mothers day weekend filled with lots of laughing, talking, visiting, and just a little bit of indulging.  I think week 1 was a total success and I feel motivated for week 2.  The only real issue I encountered {besides realizing 6 days of working out is HARD} was I noticed my milk production definitely decreased.  I tend to nurse exclusively in the evenings and on weekends but express while I am at work.  I made sure to get enough calories, just healthy ones.  What can I say, baby likes brownies.  Any tips are greatly appreciated.  Here are some pictures of our weekend and oh yeah holy bucket list I rode in a hot air balloon ride!!!

Sophie and I have been looking forward to this for quite awhile.
The beautiful dress my girls and husband picked out.

My beautiful mom!                                    All four kiddos squished in at FlatBread.

  1. So fun on the hot air balloon, that's on my bucket list too!
So with the nursing thing...when I started the last challenge the first week I noticed a decrease in production as well so I added more protein to my daily calories. By the end of week 2 things were back to normal, I think it just took my body a little time to adjust. I read that an exclusively nursing mom can add 500 calories to your calculated amount and still lose weight...for me I add about 300.
Hopefully things get back to normal this week for you, good luck with it all.
Your mothers day pictures are awesome, everyone looks so happy!

  2. la leche league says to eat at least 1500-1800 calories if nursing. i'm not sure how much you were doing. i'm nursing too. i haven't noticed a decrease but then i haven't been very good at dieting!! maybe we need to drink even more water. that's my one idea.
